A short weekend break in Opole, Poland
Wow, it was freezing cold there in January! But since we love Old Towns, the trip was well worth it.
Opole is located around 100 km (63 miles) southeast of Wroclaw. In Poland it’s mostly known for the annual music festival that takes place there in June.
On that icy January day we strolled the cobbled streets, gazed admiringly at the beautiful old buildings and had a cup of lovely hot chocolate at Dolce Far Niente: the smallest café we’ve ever been to.
There were no lovely apartments available on the dates we travelled so we booked a gorgeous boutique hotel by Odra. Piano Hotel is new, impeccably clean and provides excellent service. We loved the décor of our room and the restaurant. Make sure you book a room with the river view.
For lunch or dinner we also recommend Kredens at Best Western Hotel. We loved the blue sofas there and the food was delicious, not to mention the staff that was very accommodating.
