Indian food in Katowice
If you visit Katowice and feel like having Indian food, visit Hurry Curry at Sienkiewicza 1 Street. This small bistro is a nice and cosy place that always welcomes you with the aromatic smell of turmeric, ginger and coriander.
The interior is pleasantly warm with wooden table tops, big pendant lamps and colurful pillows on the window sill. If the weather’s nice, you can choose to sit on the patio.
My friend and I had lunch at Hurry Curry a couple weeks ago (June 2014). I had a bowl of corn & coconut milk soup which was deliciously sweet and very spicy at the same time. My friend ordered the vegetarian samosa which was very good too.
Then we both had curry: the dish that this place is famous for. They actually have a good selection of curries from mild to hot ones and we found it a challenge to choose but in the end we decided on the vegetable and fish varieties. Both were served with rice on the side and both were tasty; nothing extraordinary though. If you come here on a hot summer day, make sure you order another speciality of the house: the lemonade. It’s very refreshing.
The waiting staff was friendly and communicative but timing is something they should work on; we received our curries while we were still eating the starters.
All in all, Hurry Curry made a favourable impression on us and we both felt like we’d just had a decent, healthy meal.
